Bampton’s Lyon Dominates to take victory
A cold Thursday on the last evening in March saw the return of the Aunt Sally Interleague. After 3 years Banbury’s General Foods Social Club, now called the Waterside Bar played host to 8 teams of seasoned Aunt Sally Players. The format for the evening was a straight knockout competition with support from a number of leagues within Oxfordshire.
Teams on the night included an always on form Oxford and Kidlington, Bampton, Bicester, Yarnton, Chipping Norton with Banbury fielding 2 teams due a last minute cancellation.
Not just an opportunity to pit the best plyers from each league in competition but a welcome social event where friends can get together and talk Aunt Sally, this year was special
Teams and spectators were treated to some fantastic competition with Bampton ultimately victorious thanks in no small part to Neil Lyons consistent throwing which included 2 Sixes!
Sixers on the night were Neil Lyon of Bampton and Karl Budd of Bicester.
Special Thanks to Pete Dempsey for organising the evening and supplying the cups and raffle prizes with support from Matt Dixon and Lisa Brain who ran the raffle.
